Although we have a range of advanced driving courses suitable for drivers of cars, vans, buses, coaches, LGVs and even motor bikes, you’ll need to start the process by putting all your driving employees through a driver risk assessment.

A driving risk assessment will identify those at greatest risk out on the road and therefore who would benefit from advanced driver training of some sort. This driving risk assessment is a legal requirement under UK health and safety law.

A driver risk assessment can also be a very useful way of demonstrating that you’ve taken the first steps in discharging your duty of care responsibilities, should the authorities ever ask for proof of management action in the event of a serious on-road incident involving your employees. The driver risk assessment will produce data that effectively gives you a risk rating for each individual, enabling you to channel appropriate training to the area of greatest need.
